Simplicity of Quiet

The stillness of peace is found in a hushed quiet. Silence reverberating like ripples on clear, spring fed pond. Our hurried selves can come to a full stop. In the quiet of our hearing and sight -comes a quieting of the soul. Quiet is momentary -unless you go out of your way to watch for it. Quiet is the envelopment of the soul to ready the mind, focus in prayer, listen to others and listen for God. Quiet is undervalued in this world. The world's way is chaotic, noisy, busy, hurried, rushed and often overwhelming demands that prey on our soul so that worry enters in. When faced with quiet the worldly soul is often bored, annoyed, afraid --offended. However quiet is of God. Quiet is of his best gifts.
