Often the characters from Meek come to mind.
Today I wondered about the Bible verse Matt 8:28-34 about Jesus rebuking demons who tortured a man named Legion. When he cast out the many demons they beg to be sent into pigs. Then they drown themselves in the sea.
Why did Jesus let them go into the pigs. What happened to Legion -did he return to his people and share his testimony? Why do the demons/pigs drown themselves?
These questions help me think through the most likely path for my characters -both those who are developing a relationship with Jesus and those who are evil -such as the demons.
In Meek I've tended to make the demons as close to self-centered and filled with a mixture of regret and longing for God while sustaining their great desire to keep being evil. Yet I couldn't help but make them some what inept and bumbling. Much like the pigs possessed by demons -they drown themselves because they can't stand to be in a pig? Or they are seeking revenge because they hated being cast out? What is the motivation?
This leads me to write chapter after chapter of White Stone Book II: Martyr.
